 What is a CDE?

CDE stands for a Certified Diabetes Educator.  In addition to having a health professional degree, such as a nursing degree/credential, nutrition degree/credential, or pharmacy degree/credential.   CDEs have a bare minimum of 1000 hours of experience caring for and educating people with diabetes as well as a specialized knowledge of diabetes (as demonstrated by passing an exam).  For more information, www.ncbde.org

Do I have to be a CDE to join  WADE?
NO, we have lots of non CDE in WADE as well as CDE's.  You must have an interest in diabetes education.

Do I have to be an AADE member to join WADE?  If so, why?
To be an ACTIVE WADE member with full voting rights you must be an AADE because we are a chapter of AADE and we have to follow many of their rules.   Only Active WADE members can vote, hold office, or chair a committee.   However, if you are not an AADE member, you may enjoy many of the membership benefits such as access to our members only part of the website and invitations to professional education offerings, by becoming an Associate Member.  Please see Join WADE, under the For Professionals section.

Why did WADE change their membership year?
WADE changed their membership year to coincide with AADE's membership year which will change to a rolling or roving membership year.  WADE Memberships will now last 1 year from the purchase or renewal date, so you will get a full 12 months of member benefits.

I got a brochure for the annual conference, doesn't that mean I'm a mailing list or newsletter subscriber and qualify for the discount?
No, we send out brochures to anyone we think maybe interested in coming to our conference.  To qualify for the discount and to be officially a mailing list or newsletter subscriber, you must have paid dues. Please see  Join WADE.

Does my user id and password from the old website work?

No, the old password was universal to the membership.  With the new website we have more security and each person needs an individual user name and password.

How do I reset my password?

To change your password, first make sure you are logged in.  Under where you log in click on the link,  my account.  You will go to your acct information.  Then there will be 2 tabs near the top.   You will be in the view tab.  To change your password, click on the edit tab.  There you will see where to enter your  new password.  Be sure to click on Submit at the bottom.

Forgotten Password &/or user ID

It is  easy to recover your password and/or user id yourself.  Go to www.wadepage.org,  you will see a link or you can just use this one, Forgot password and/or id name or would like to change password.  It will bring you to a screen where you can enter either your user name or email address.  You will then get sent  a temporary log in and will direct you to enter a new password.

How do I check or update my profile or my address?

Log in to the website.  Then click on My Account (under where you logged in) and you can check to see the information that is on file for you.

Then click on the "edit" tab which is underneath WADEmembership.  The next page will show your user name and a place for your password.  The password will always be empty.  You do not need to fill that in unless you wish to changeyour password. Then scroll down the page to see if you want to add or change anything.  Click on "Submit" at the bottom, then "edit" again if you changed anything.  Next click on the appropriate heading, such as  Personal information,Contact information, etc,  to update that information.  Be sure to click on "submit" any time you want your changes saved.  Please also notify the membership chair about changes you have made, wademail@hotmail.com.
