In Las Vegas, I am always one step ahead, and otherwise, it is not clear how this city in the middle of the Nevada desert manages to attract so many players during the year. A new blackjack formula is catching on in the game capital, and the results are there for all to see. This is “Blackjack Vegas,” a variant of the classic game. Obviously, it respects the basic rules of the model that we all know, but with differences on other points. All in Las Vegas style.
It splits up to three times.
The aim is always to get as close as possible to 21, beating the bank, without going bust. Also, in this version, the dealer is forced to call a card until his hand reaches the minimum score of 17. Players can double up to 3 times even the pairs of cards with a value of 10 (for example, J and 10). As for the split of the aces, it is allowed to do so, but you can only receive one card, and any blackjack will no longer be valid.
Double Down
It didn’t end there. The main feature of Las Vegas Blackjack is that double down is allowed on any card; the value of the starting hand does not need to be between 9 and 11. You place a bet equal to the initial one, and you’re done. Only constraint: no doubling is allowed after the split except in the case of the two aces.
The Variant With Only One Deck
This rule certainly makes Vegas Blackjack more exciting and surprising than the classic. The possibility of doubling on each card is certainly an additional weapon for the players, but it must be able to be exploited. There is also a version of Vegas Blackjack in which it is played with a single 52-card deck that is shuffled at the end of each hand.
